This is a hands on class with Ming to understand braiding on a deeper level! Ming is an award winning competitive and in salon festival braider, who believes that braiding is an art form and such an outlet for extreme creativity! This class will be a deep dive into boosting your confidence in braiding, from initial set up to the most elaborate festival braids. You will leave this class with an elevated technique you can apply across a wide range of client’s needs. Please come to this class with an open mind and a learning spirit!

Class Schedule:

  1. Goody bag over view and kit set up

  2. How to take before photos + content throughout

  3. Foundation of braiding and parting technique using live model and human hair mannequin

  4. Synthetic hair selection, hair prep and hair blending technique

  5. Various braiding techniques and how to integrate them seamlessly

  6. How to accessorize, detail and

  7. How to seal, cut and secure the braids for multi-day wear

  8. Aftercare coverage and home care for clients

  9. How to take good after photos

  10. Q+A

Details:

Kits for students are ordered per student per class. Please allow a 7-10 business day turn around time to book class to ensure kit’s arrive in time!

*Class time: 11am-4:30 pm approx. lunch will be 30 minutes around 1:30pm

*Class location: The Moon Salon, 115 N. 4th Street, Suite 107A, San Jose, CA, 95112.

  • Parking is metered and available on St. John and 4th Street.

*Kit details: kit will include:

  • Human hair mannequin head

  • Manneuqin stand

  • Braiding gel and mousse

  • Braiding comb and hair elastics

  • Satin bonnet

  • 2 packs of high quality synthetic braiding hair

Helpful info: if you have a magsafe phone case please bring it, magsafe tripods will be provided, otherwise please bring a tripod of your choosing for your phone for content purposes. Recordings are for personal use only and redistribution of this class or monetization of it is not permitted.
